One councilmember said the chamber's prior permit violations were "pretty severe" and noted the chamber had taken punishment. A motion to reinstate the chamber's special-event liquor permit (effective Oct. 1, 2025, after a six-month suspension) was made and seconded but was later rescinded in favor of tabling the matter to the next council meeting to allow all council members to participate. Councilmember Tim Weber indicated he would need to abstain from a portion of related decisions because of separate permission requirements; the item was not voted on tonight.
