Council approves grant applications to fund Rangeley boat ramp signage and site improvements

The Rangely Town Council approved a not-to-exceed $80,000 grant application to Colorado Parks and Wildlife (Fishing Is Fun grant) to fund traffic control, logistics and identification signage for the town boat ramp. Town Manager Lisa described the proposed signage layout and said the packet included a tentative map showing two kiosk locations.
Lisa noted that the plan includes two kiosks — "1 will be the 1 that's, like, 6 sided, the larger 1, and then the other 1 might be 1 of the other" — and that the design work would be refined with local designer Larry Lucas. Council members discussed making the signage cohesive so people do not stop alongside the road to read multiple, inconsistent signs.
The council also voted to amend a previously approved National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (Restore) grant from a not-to-exceed $100,000 to a revised total of $123,000 to cover additional kiosk and signage work shown in the packet. Motions carried by voice vote.
