Trustees on June 9 approved a contract with financial advisory firm Ehlers to conduct a sewer connection fee study for the Village of Rockland. The board recorded an estimated timeline of about four to six weeks to complete the study and asked the village attorney to prepare a draft ordinance to establish connection fees after the study is finished.
The motion to authorize Ehlers was moved by Trustee Seth Hemmersbach and seconded by Trustee Valerie Williams; the minutes state the motion carried. The study is intended to produce recommended connection fee schedules that would be codified in a local ordinance. No fee levels were included in the minutes; the ordinance and fee figures were noted as to be prepared after the study.
