The Village of Rockland Board of Trustees voted to hire CGC to perform soil boring services for the planned wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) project after MSA presented CGC as the lowest bidder. The board approved the contract with a motion by Trustee Bob Rueckheim and a second from Trustee Penny Stock; minutes state CGC will bill the village directly.
During the same discussion, MSA representative Matt Castillo reviewed building options for housing the WWTP oxidation ditch and clarifier and said the dome option was significantly cheaper than a metal building. Public works staff participated in the discussion and the board decided to proceed with the dome option. Castillo also asked whether GLCap would submit the Clean Water Fund application for the project; Deputy Clerk Cheryl Brumbly was asked to confirm that arrangement with GLCap.
Next steps recorded in the minutes include coordinating the soil boring contract administration and confirming grant-application responsibilities. The board noted River Bank is working on interim financing for the overall WWTP project; no dollar amounts for the contract or financing were specified in the minutes.
