DeKalb highlights sustainability push: chief of sustainability, composting and green‑bin investment

Singletary also announced a recent $250,000 investment in green bins to support composting distribution and said the county has an RFP out for solar panels as part of an effort to recapture power and reduce energy spending. She noted investments in compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure to convert waste gases to vehicle fuel and said the county will seek community engagement on these programs.
"DeKalb County recently hired its 1st chief of sustainability... We just approved a $250,000 investment in green bins," Singletary said, and invited interested council members to participate in the county's green committee.
