Council voted to approve a grant application to the Colorado Natural Disaster Mitigation Enterprise (NDME) for $20,580 to purchase and install a water "tribit/tribitameter" instrument intended to improve water treatment by providing better input on incoming water quality. Town staff said the device would help the water team treat the water more efficiently by giving clearer measurements of what the treatment plant receives.
Tim moved to approve the grant application and Kyle seconded; the council approved the submission on a voice vote. Councilors discussed that although the grant application was due quickly, applying offered an opportunity to obtain funding for items tied to emergency management and mitigating fire impacts on infrastructure.
