County treasurer, clerk and supervisor give brief service updates; council hears concerns about stadium appearance and gateway sign lighting

Chairman Phillip Russell recognized elected officials for brief updates. Treasurer Debbie Robertson told Council her office is still working to set up processing for DMV late fees and is awaiting completion of necessary software. Clerk of Court Stephanie Kitchens reported the Clerk’s Office participated in the SC Humanities Festival, stated the courthouse dome is nearly complete and apologized for recent office system glitches.
Chairman Russell provided a short update on county projects and noted his Supervisor’s Report will be attached to the minutes. Councilmember Carolyn Rutherford said she received photos concerning the appearance of Union County Stadium during the high school graduation ceremony; Chairman Russell asked Rutherford to forward the photos to him. Councilman John Glenn asked about Gateway signs that still need lighting; Chairman Russell said staff are working to provide electricity to the signs because they cannot be solar powered.
