Daughter of Songhu urges Lindbergh be renamed to honor an immigrant community leader

Linda Renzavath, who identified herself as the daughter of the late Songhu, urged the district to name Lindbergh Elementary after her father. She said his journey from refugee to UW–Madison graduate and community leader exemplified the resilience and opportunity Madison wants to inspire in students.
“My father deeply valued education and helped pave the way for others to pursue their own educational journeys,” Renzavath said, describing how his life reflected the experiences of many Madison students and families. She added that naming the school for Songhu would offer students a relatable role model and reinforce values of service and opportunity.
