The Dubois County Commissioners approved several administrative items by unanimous votes. Auditor Sandra L. Morton presented items to declare surplus, including an APS UPS (Emergency Management), ICOM VHF mobile radio, seven cell phones and a hotspot (Health Department), an iNX cot battery (Ambulance), and an HP ProBook (Veteran Services). The motion to declare those items surplus carried unanimously.
Recorder Jackie McPherron submitted a sales order to add Fidlar OCR technology to the Recorder's hosted Bastion database to convert recorded document images into searchable text; the board approved the request and permitted the Recorder to sign the sales order. Auditor Morton also presented the annual Covered Bridge Certification to the Indiana Comptroller's Office certifying Dubois County does not have a covered bridge; that motion carried unanimously as well.
Commissioner Blessinger presented concerns from local businesses about a proposed cell tower near the Huntingburg Airport and submitted a letter to the Federal Aviation Administration expressing those concerns; the board approved sending the letter unanimously. These items were presented as routine administrative business and required no further hearings at the meeting.
