Robert "Bobby" Taylor, a 1985 Taos High graduate and urban planner, presented a concept document for a Taos High School Alumni Association and asked the board to permit further development of a legal and governance framework. "The Taos High School Alumni Association will exist to maintain lifelong connections between graduates of Taos High School and the Taos community while supporting alumni, current students, and faculty and staff," Taylor said, describing mission areas including reunions, fundraising, communications, mentorship and preserving school history.
Board members praised the idea and discussed next steps. Superintendent Dr. Antonio Layton Jr. recommended legal review of the proposed partnership and suggested the item return to a future board meeting as a potential action item after the district legal team and administration assess feasibility. The board signaled support for continued conversations but made no funding commitment at this meeting.
