Brookline Selectboard hires Northpoint to manage Town Hall project for $109,910

The Brookline Selectboard voted 4-0 on July 13, 2026, to accept Northpoint's bid of $109,910 to serve as Town Hall project manager following interviews with three finalist firms. Chair Brian Rater convened the special meeting at 6:30 p.m.; the decision followed presentations by Bracken Consulting, ECC Corporation and Northpoint.
Selectboard members discussed scope and cost differences among the finalists. Northpoint representatives, led by CEO Gary Thomas and Kristine Walker (director of architectural design), described a process that includes developing floor layouts and elevation drawings and presenting plans at town meeting. They said the firm has 40–50 employees and $50–60 million in annual sales, and warned that items such as traffic studies would be billed separately. The board discussed that costs would decrease if some of the town's four options were not pursued.
The motion to accept Northpoint's bid was made by Steve Dolfini and seconded by Jerry Roche; the motion passed 4–0. Ed Perry, who participated by phone, expressed support for Northpoint before dropping off the call at about 9:00 p.m. The board then adjourned at 9:05 p.m. on a separate 4–0 motion by Jerry Roche, seconded by Steve Dolfini.
