The Humboldt City Board voted to purchase a utility box quoted at approximately $12,050 for a new truck after a motion by Theresa Muth and a second by Julien Gambs; the vote was recorded as unanimous. Public works staff reported that if Mike Beaner and Gene Betz perform the installation, the city could save about $2,595 on installation costs.
Board members also discussed park maintenance equipment: Beaner said he will obtain quotes for a different mower for park and ball fields. The board discussed renting or buying a bulldozer to move dirt for a parking lot serving the ball parks and asked Beaner to contact the WCBA to determine whether the association will cover the work. Beaner reported that the manhole at 2nd and Jefferson needs repair and will solicit quotes for that work.
