Humboldt board removes water surcharges for Fire and Ambulance, keeps three surcharges on city bills

The Humboldt City Board voted Feb. 9 to remove water surcharges from the utility bills of the Humboldt Fire and Ambulance while keeping water and sewer charges unchanged. The motion to remove the surcharges was made by Theresa Muth and seconded by President Ritchy Griepp; all members present voted aye.
Separately, the board approved a measure to make city utility bills uniform and to retain all three water surcharges on city accounts. That motion, made by Kelly O’Gorman and seconded by Ritchy Griepp, also passed unanimously. The board directed staff to draft an agreement for the Fire and Ambulance entities to sign reflecting the billing change. The decisions were recorded during the New Business section of the meeting and will be reflected in forthcoming billing documents.
