EDC tells commissioners 2025 projects generated an estimated $8.6 million in local tax value

Joe, chief executive of the Economic Development Corporation, presented the EDC's 2025 activity and longer-term pipeline to the commission, telling members the organization supported 17 projects in 2025 and that an independent economic-impact analysis estimated about $8.6 million in tax value to local taxing bodies from those projects.
Joe highlighted examples of recruitment and expansion that the EDC said will increase the tax base as projects come online, including a company moving employees into the region and another that expects to add 10 jobs with wages above $100,000. He said the EDC has assisted more than 170 projects over eight years and that the cumulative economic-impact estimate exceeds $9 billion, figures he used to explain why private sector partners have invested in Innovate 28.
"This past year in 2025, we had the opportunity to assist 17 different companies with projects in the region," Joe said during his presentation. He and the EDC also described coordination with equalization offices and cities to estimate realized and projected new tax revenue.
