Trustees plan reseeding, plot remeasurement and gate painting at Francestown cemeteries

Trustees discussed reseeding the northern extension of the Turnpike Cemetery and the possibility of borrowing a dethatcher and receiving donated composted manure from local farms to support the work. The board scheduled a site visit at Turnpike Cemetery on Friday, May 8 to measure two rows of plots at the east end of the south side of the old cemetery; Catharine Roehrig has determined those plots do not match the drawn map and trustees will stake a new cremation lot and an old plot for a spring burial. Trustees also scheduled a work day on Tuesday, May 26 to paint gates at the Turnpike and Mill Village cemeteries. The next meeting was set for June 9, 2026 at 8:30 a.m.; the May 5 meeting adjourned at 10:40 a.m.
