District outlines repairs after repeated summer flooding; relief drain and retaining-wall work planned

The Ascent High School project has exterior and interior walls up and will move under roof within weeks, staff said. At the middle school, planned drop-off-lane work was delayed by rain and by the need to reroute a major fiber line; staff said crews will pull fiber into newly run conduit and start the drop-off work once conditions allow.
Staff described repeated flooding at the junior high and "bridal school" (transcript name as spoken) and said they are adding a relief drain to daylight to a lower elevation and will modify a blocked retaining wall between the school and a retention basin. "So we're gonna adjust some of that and redo that concrete retaining wall," the presenter said, and staff emphasized the fix is intended to limit water backing into the building.
Other items included tennis-court maintenance scheduled to begin August 3 and site work for new courts beginning August 12, and turf repairs to the football field for storm damage. Staff said the city agreed to scope nearby storm drains after its cameras are repaired; if the city cannot act in time staff will explore alternatives but noted rights and jurisdictional limits around storm-drain infrastructure.
