The Humboldt Town Board on March 23 approved a conditional-use permit allowing a shed to be constructed before a permanent dwelling at 406 S. Benjamin St., subject to a condition that a house be built on the lot within two years and the shed remain vacant until then. Applicant Jarad Zacharias told the board putting up a shed would make the lot easier to sell because “it has been difficult getting the concept of the lots out to the public.”
Planning & Zoning recommended the conditional approval with the two-year build requirement. Julien Gambs moved to approve the permit under those conditions; the motion passed on unanimous roll call. The permit requires a permanent dwelling within two years and prohibits occupying the shed until the house is complete, per the board’s motion.
