"I'm not officially the superintendent until August 1 ... I'm hoping to have that set for August 5," the superintendent said, describing brief introductions followed by refreshments so community members can meet principals and administrators.
The superintendent also outlined the five-year strategic plan the board approved in December, noting four focus areas—facilities, finance, student experience and communications—and proposed exploring a part-time communications position (about six hours a day during the school year) to centralize and improve messaging across platforms. Board members discussed the district's contracts with communication platforms and the need for training and implementation consistency for ParentSquare/AppTee and related systems.
The board accepted the informational report and encouraged support for new staff and continued focus on timely, clear communications.
