Owensville reports strong waterpark opening and new summer programs

The Parks & Recreation Director told the board that opening week at the Owensville waterpark was successful, drawing almost 1,000 attendees despite two days when the park was closed for weather. The department noted program offerings including River Walk, Water Fitness, swim lessons and Tot Splash and announced the Sparklight Series movie nights beginning June 12 at Buschman Park.
The parks report also stated the new recreation-desk system has logged approximately $14,000 in transactions to date, with about $8,200 in cash and $2,000 in checks. First State Community Bank will host ballpark concessions and movie-night activities; the board did not take action other than receiving the report.
