The board unanimously accepted a $90,000 grant from the Porter County Community Foundation to expand the district’s Birth-to-School work, Superintendent Dr. Brian Smith and Dr. Barb Knecht said. The grant will support networking resources, family connections for Center Township residents, and strengthened transitions from preschool to kindergarten through partnerships and professional development.
"This grant allows us to expand that even more," Dr. Barb Knecht said, adding the funding will be used to connect families to early resources and to deepen partnerships with local preschool providers. The board moved, seconded and approved acceptance of the grant by voice vote.
