The Valparaiso Community Schools Board of Trustees opened its meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and the administration of the oath of office to a newly elected trustee. Jeff Sharpeja administered the oath to Pratisha Seibert, who pledged to “support the Constitution of The United States of America and the constitution of the state of Indiana” and to “faithfully execute the duties” of her office as a member of the governing body.
Board leaders then reminded trustees to complete the required conflict-of-interest statement within seven days and return it to district staff. The board also moved and approved a motion to retain the current slate of officers, including purchasing and treasury roles, and approved the consent agenda without opposition. The meeting proceeded to the superintendent’s report and other agenda items.
