Village manager authorized to pursue Pokagon Fund grant for community garden shed; AEP easement forthcoming

Village Manager Dan Faulkner reported substantial structural problems with the existing shed at the Community Garden, including lack of a foundation, shifting from water, doors that no longer close properly, and animal access. The board voted to authorize Faulkner to proceed with a Pokagon Fund community grant application for up to $7,500 to construct a replacement shed; the motion was moved by Larry Shawver and supported by Marlene Kramer.
Faulkner also told the board that American Electric Power (AEP) is expected to present an easement proposal tied to the Perrambu School Development project involving land use near the community garden. The easement proposal will come before the Parks Board and the Village Council for review when it is ready.
