Chair Kathleen Lonergan read aloud the amended scope of work from Environmental Solutions (ES) for wetland area NWRA‑33, which the board had previously approved pending corrections. The read scope described removal and disposal of several dead or dying bushes and two dead oak and maple branches in the southwest portion adjacent to water lilies, targeted vine knockback by cutting at water level, selective herbicide use, and hand‑pulling weeds where mechanical equipment cannot safely operate.
Lonergan noted the ES work will “not be able to eliminate the vines because they are up in the canopy, but we will be able to knock them back meaningfully.” District Manager Chuck Adams explained that ES’s handwork approach is more aesthetic while A‑Z Tree Service uses a forestry mulcher and grinds material. The board confirmed that ES will not remove trees larger than 5 inches in diameter and that the District Engineer (not present) had coordinated perimeter cleanup with ES; staff will proceed with the corrected ES task for NWRA‑33.
