Council approves bills, personnel actions and bond for fire equipment

The council also adopted Ordinance 70-45, a bond ordinance appropriating $82,500 for acquisition of firefighting equipment and personal-protective equipment for the fire department and authorizing $78,375 in bonds or notes to finance part of the appropriation. No public comments were offered on the item during the hearing.
Separately, the council approved multiple personnel appointments and postings across city departments (police, fire, recreation, public works, construction code), including appointment dates, seasonal lists and salary ranges as read into the record. Some appointments were conditional on successful completion of preemployment requirements. The personnel report was moved and adopted by voice/roll call as recorded.
