Residents press council on Charles Street condition; manager points to planned stormwater project

During public comment Robert Fleck described poor pavement conditions on Charles Street (between US‑1 and a nearby cross street) and said he had provided photographs of 'washboard' conditions and repeated attempts to get resurfacing. "A lot of Charles Street as you see it today will have to be totally tore up completely," the city manager said, explaining that final design and engineering are ongoing and that resurfacing would occur as part of the larger project. He also described acquiring properties for stormwater projects and sequencing demolition, grading and seeding before construction.
