Resident says illegal mulch dumping continued after complaint; borough to follow up

Resident Mr. Grabanowski of 14 Oak St spoke during public comment on April 21 to say that despite prior reports and borough warnings, he continued to observe dumping at the mulch pit after raising the issue at a previous meeting. "I came to meetings and was respectful, polite and gave us a chance (regarding the dumping situation) but it didn't stop," he said, and told council he has lost friendships over the matter.
Administrator Matthew Guilder responded that the day after the resident came to a prior meeting, both superintendents were instructed to stop immediately but the resident asserted trucks were observed the next day. Guilder said he has requested proposals for remediation work the borough cannot perform and confirmed the corrective action plan had received preliminary approval from the Department of Environmental Protection. He said he would follow up with the employees and follow through on the corrective action plan.
No closed session or formal disciplinary action was recorded at the meeting; the council received this update and public complaint as part of unfinished business and public comment.
