The Angel Fire airport committee met in a non-quorum, informational session to review progress on the airport transfer and the village’s capital improvement planning. Chair Jeff Gilmore said the FAA-required five-year capital improvement plan (CIP) is due by the end of September, with the village aiming to complete it earlier "so that we can look at what we need to do at the airport."
Gilmore told the group he spoke with an assistant ADO manager at the FAA and expects an update from Washington, D.C., soon. "I fully expect to have something, if not this afternoon, at least by Wednesday, that will give us a status of where we're at in Washington DC," he said. Committee members emphasized the need to align the CIP with the comprehensive plan and to consider site-prep and infrastructure needs before leasing or developing hangar lots. The meeting was informational only; no formal actions were taken because the group lacked a quorum.
