Commission on Aging cites lower Community Expo turnout, renews call for volunteers and members

Acting Chair Janet Wey thanked volunteers who staffed the Community Expo and said the commission noticed fewer attendees and participants this year, possibly due to weather or competing town events. The commission expressed interest in participating again next year and in improving outreach to boost attendance.
Commissioners also reiterated efforts to recruit new commission members; First Selectman Don Lowe published a call for applicants in his column but no inquiries had been received as of the meeting. Commissioner Merialis Lewis said she would follow up with the state representative about repainting lines on Route 37, and Commissioner Keith Barton asked Social Services to check whether exterior lights outside Town Hall are covered in the WESTCOG ADA compliance analysis.
