Franklin Township praised for districtwide PBIS implementation; restorative trainers recognized

District leaders recognized Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) coaches and restorative-practices trainers at the June 23 board meeting, and highlighted a districtwide award and implementation milestones.
A district presenter said, “We are so proud that we've been honored for a 2nd year in a row for the Gold status district leadership, implementation of PBIS,” adding that the district is “one of 3 districts in New Jersey who implements it district wide.” Supervisor Darren Plummer described restorative practices as an effort “to use an explicit practice to build relationships and community, resolve tension and conflict when it arises, and repair and restore those relationships.”
Board members and staff asked recognized PBS and restorative team members to join them on stage for certificates and photos. The district also tied PBIS work to broader supports — mentoring, school counselors and targeted interventions — and said next steps include continuing trainer development and pairing restorative practice work with PBIS teams across buildings.
