Casey Kaiser, Assistant City Manager and Public Works Director, presented the staff report, saying there were "four responsive bidders" and that "Tri-County Paving had the lowest bid at $613,572.50." Kaiser also stated the engineers' estimate was $650,000.00. Councilor Scott Smith moved to approve the award and the motion was seconded and passed with all members voting in favor.
The contract award covers the street rehabilitation work identified in the project packet; staff did not report any changes to scope during the meeting. Councilor Janet Hutchison used the meeting to request broader neighborhood notifications for the South Main paving project in future work, and Councilor Smith noted positive feedback from family members living in the construction area. The council recorded the vote as carried and moved on to the next agenda item.
