Council adopts ordinance updating comprehensive plan chapters on land use and economy

Josh Smith presented Ordinance 13-08 to finalize amendments to chapters 2 and 5 of the Prineville comprehensive plan and to complete the public-hearing process. Smith said the ordinance completes a yearlong review following the public meeting and that the economic opportunities analysis (OA) is not embedded as an exhibit in the ordinance text but will be referenced and kept separately. "We've been going over this for the last year or so," Smith said. "The public hearing was closed. This is the ordinance kind of completing that circle."
Council member (S4) moved to approve Ordinance 13-08 and a second was recorded; the motion passed on a voice vote. No substantive amendments were recorded during the meeting. The council thanked Josh Smith after the vote. The ordinance updates affect urban land-use and economic policy language in the city's plan and will be reflected in the planning department's materials and code-update workflow.
