Superintendent reports plant flows steady; one monitoring exceedance to be tracked

During the meeting the superintendent presented the June 2026 operational report for the regional wastewater plant and highlighted system performance and a single compliance issue.
He reported average daily flow for June around 3,800,000 gallons per day with a peak of 8,400,000 gpd and a low near 2,000,000 gpd. Treatment performance was strong: staff said they achieved about 99% removal for CBOD at 2.2 mg/L and 99% removal for TSS at 3.3 mg/L, and phosphorus measured 0.09 mg/L (just under the permit). For sludge management, staff reported 612 tons were sent to EPIC rather than landfill or incineration.
Staff acknowledged one compliance sample that was just above the permit limit for the month; they said the plant takes samples three times weekly and will report and monitor trends with DEM, noting a single bad number is monitored to see whether multiple exceedances occur.
