Rainier holds public hearing and first reading on Ordinance 1104 to vacate 306-foot alley

The Rainier City Council opened a public hearing at 6:07 p.m. on Dec. 1 for Ordinance 1104, which would vacate a 306-foot alley in Block 2 of the Vogel Tract between E Norwood Street and Fisher Street. Mayor Jerry Cole closed the hearing at 6:09 p.m.
City Administrator W. Scott Jorgensen told the council the corridor "has not been an alley for quite some time" and that the vacation procedure was initiated in the 1960s but never finalized. The council took the ordinance up for a first reading; no final action or vote on the vacation was recorded at the meeting.
