Bond projects on track, Park Hill and Lee Lewis report: Crockett, McGill and Central updates

Park Hill partner Hector Santiago updated trustees July 20 on multiple Bond 2025 projects, reporting Crockett Elementary is in final interior finishes and targeting final inspection the first week of August, McGill has structural decking and footings in place and is moving toward concrete slab work, and Central High School has its water line installed with paving and final site work delayed by rain.
Santiago said portables and permitting remain subject to city approvals. He also noted the GMP for Lakeview High School would be considered later in the meeting and reported that the Lee Lewis GMP is under the project’s construction budget.
Trustees asked specific questions about whether projects will be ready for the start of school and about demolition versus renovation decisions for older campus structures. Santiago and Lee Lewis representatives answered that demolition and rebuild decisions were priced and the district proceeded with direction to demolish when cost differences were modest and justified better outcomes.
