EMS director: new Cajun's Mountain base has already reduced response times

Keys also discussed quarterly response-time data, saying the first quarter of 2026 (January–April) averaged about 10.5 minutes, and he attributed improvements to adding two ambulances at the new base. He said the station’s placement reaches multiple nearby base districts and that early results show a measurable decrease in travel time to serious medical calls.
The presentation included operational maps and a preview of the facility’s deployment zones; officials invited the public to tour the station after remarks. The county did not provide specific before-and-after aggregate response-time tables for independent review during the dedication.
