Trappe says lead service-line inventory complete; 252 letters to property owners, DBF to amend contract

Trappe Town Administrator Erin Braband reported the town completed and submitted its lead service-line inventory to the Maryland Department of the Environment on Oct. 15, 2024 and will send 252 letters to properties whose service-line materials remain unknown.
Braband told the council that Davis, Bowen & Friedel (DBF) offered to amend its contract to use additional American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to continue work on the inventory and related tasks. The council asked Town staff and DBF to draft an amended contract for council review.
The item was discussed during the council’s regular meeting on Nov. 6, 2024; Administrator Braband also asked the council to schedule a workshop to decide allocations of remaining ARPA funds before Dec. 31, 2024. The council set a workshop for Nov. 19, 2024 at 4:30 p.m.
Next steps: staff and DBF will prepare proposed contract amendments and present them to the council for formal approval.
