District engineer: stormwater system reached capacity in places after Tropical Storm Debbie

District Engineer Charlie Krebs reported on the condition of the stormwater system following Tropical Storm Debbie, saying that parts of the community received "almost 8" of rain in two or three days while the roads are designed for 5½" of rain over a 24‑hour period. He said the system generally flowed unobstructed but reached capacity in locations; he recommended that The Club consider adding a drainage connection to Lake E1‑A to bypass pipes and inlets.

A resident reported standing water entering building slabs and possible mold issues; Mr. Krebs said he does not believe the standing water is the cause because other units did not report similar problems, and he asked Mr. Long to comment and include the matter on the next agenda for further follow up. Mr. Krebs also said Lee County Utilities handles some water line repairs referenced in the meeting and that he would confirm whether any roadway or curb damage occurred.
