Board reviews Premier Lakes update and NPDES annual report; aerator relocation discussed

Johnson Engineering and Premier Lakes updated the Board on lake conditions after storms, filing of the Lee County NPDES Permit annual report to be submitted to FDEP before Nov. 1, 2024; the Board discussed relocating a nano-bubbler aerator and potential changes to water sampling requirements in future permit cycles.
Representatives from Johnson Engineering and Premier Lakes reported that lakes held up well following recent storms; Premier Lakes noted one nano-bubbler machine requires repair. Mark Zordan presented the Lee County NPDES Permit FLS000035-004 Cycle 4 Year 7 Annual Report, which Lee County reviewed and approved and which will be submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection before the Nov. 1, 2024 deadline. Staff discussed that future permit cycles may change water sampling requirements and that Johnson Engineering will continue attending bi-monthly Lee County NPDES meetings.
Separately, staff and the Board discussed proposals to relocate a nano-bubbler aerator that is sited close to a homeowner’s lanai and the related electrical work; Mr. Willis will revisit contractor electrical proposals with the vendor and confer with Mr. Kurth after the meeting.
