Residents ask River Ridge board to prioritize Lake 8 stormwater fixes

At the January 28 River Ridge Community Development District meeting, resident Rich Batterberry told the board that Oak Run neighbors are ‘‘asking the Board to consider something similar to their neighborhood’’ after favorable work performed at Seaside. Batterberry said residents are worried that ‘‘the water is getting under the foundations’’ and described a homeowner who incurred ‘‘significant costs trying to mitigate water coming up through the floor.’’
District Engineer Charlie Krebs reviewed the scope of the Seaside work and said the Lake 8 problems could likely be addressed by completing similar grading and stormwater work. Chair Bob Schultz said the matter ‘‘would be considered during the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 budget process.’’ The board did not make a funding commitment at the meeting; engineers will obtain cost estimates as part of the budget planning cycle.
