Trappe council directs remaining ARPA funds to staff bonuses and sewer work

Town Administrator Erin Braband presented an updated report on the town’s remaining ARPA funds. Commissioner Water Chase moved to give each employee a one-time COVID bonus of $500; Commissioner Michael Sullivan seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
The council awarded the influent screen rehabilitation contract to Bearing Construction for $130,154 (motion by Commissioner Chase, seconded by Commissioner Sullivan; approved unanimously). The council also directed Attorney Lyndsey Ryan and staff to prepare an addendum to the sewer liner RFP to increase the amount to $75,000 and to seek an amendment to Davis, Bowen & Friedel’s contract to add lead-line inventory services for $40,000. A workshop to finalize remaining ARPA spending was set for Dec. 23 at 1:00 p.m.
