Trappe council weighs procurement threshold and snow-removal contract options

At its Sept. 4 meeting the Trappe Town Council discussed raising the town's procurement threshold above $10,000 to reduce the need for frequent requests for proposals as costs increase.
Town Attorney Lyndsey Ryan suggested the adjustment, telling the Council that the low threshold forces RFPs for many routine purchases. The Council asked Ryan to draft a proposed ordinance for the October meeting for formal consideration.
The Council also discussed the town's snow-removal contract with PE Moore, which expires Dec. 31. Administrator Erin Braband was asked to contact PE Moore to ask whether they will submit a quote to continue providing service and to return a quote for review at the October meeting.
