Putney reports $268,846.03 in delinquent taxes; tax-sale planning announced

Town Manager Karen Astley reported delinquent taxes, interest and penalties due of $268,846.03 and said eighty-three property owners missed the fourth-quarter payment. Astley noted many accounts are handled by escrow agents or banks.
The minutes also show cumulative delinquent property tax and utility collections from 2011–2024 total $167,523.08 and utilities now in arrears total $25,632.32. The Town will work with account holders to bring accounts current and plans tax sales later in 2026 as part of collection efforts.
