Putney manager presses for greater visibility into reclamation fund statements

Putney Town Manager Karen Astley told the joint meeting that Putney has not been receiving duplicate bank statements for the Community Bank reclamation account and requested that Community Bank send copies to Putney as well as Dummerston. Astley said Putney has an appointed treasurer while Dummerston’s treasurer is elected and that Putney needs access to statements for auditing and transparency.
Astley asked that Putney be considered as the lead office for the Community Bank account or, at minimum, that duplicate statements be provided so Putney can demonstrate oversight during audits. She said she will inquire with Community Bank about sending duplicate statements to Putney and Dummerston.
