Resident warns Selectboard Putney crosswalk markings are worn and asks for signs and inventory

Resident Howard Fairman raised safety concerns about downtown crosswalks and sidewalks, saying the markings are worn and creating unsafe conditions for pedestrians.
"Crosswalks in town markings are worn, not safe; asking for yellow sidewalk signs at Putney Landing Crosswalk now," Fairman said. He said sidewalk funds have been set aside and that he will conduct a sidewalk inventory for damage to bring back to the Selectboard.
Selectboard Chair Eric McGowan and other members noted that lines could be repainted when weather allows and that repainting may be redone after planned paving. The board accepted Fairman's offer to inventory sidewalks and directed staff to coordinate timing and funding details.
The sidewalk inventory and any immediate signage installations are follow-up items for the board to review at a future meeting.
