Maintenance presented an update on preventative HVAC maintenance and locally funded projects. Staff reported nine schools completed for preventative HVAC maintenance and a May project cost of $123,000 compared with $156,000 in May 2025, a $33,000 reduction year-over-year.
Miss Degrees said the maintenance department had secured campuses, gathered supplies (plywood, generator fuel) and contacted contractors to secure work at construction sites ahead of an approaching storm. Committee members thanked maintenance staff for the preparedness work and asked for continued coordination to minimize project disruption during the storm window.
Staff also confirmed some electrical and field repairs were handled in-house to reduce contractor costs. The committee closed the meeting after the maintenance update and adjourned.
