Curriculum team reports NWEA growth and a new report to project proficiency by Michigan academic standard

Presenter 2, who led the curriculum update, summarized fall‑to‑spring NWEA gains and said the district exceeded national norms in many grade levels this spring. “So in the spring, you'll see we are above the national norm all the way across,” Presenter 2 said while showing the district's growth charts.
Presenter 2 also announced that NWEA will provide a new report that projects proficiency by Michigan academic standard for grades 3–8 in math and ELA, a change the district had requested. The presenter said the district will be able to use that report for more targeted curriculum work and to project proficiency on the M‑STEP; state testing (M‑STEP/PSAT/SAT) comparisons were also discussed but more detailed, embargoed fall reports are pending release.
