Finance staff said the festival produced net proceeds that were deposited into the general fund and that the commission was being asked to appropriate $45,000 now so autumn events (hay maze, pumpkin patch, Autumn Days) can be supplied and paid for before Oct. 1. "We are requesting a budget increase of $45,000 from the general fund so that departments can preorder goods and be ready to host events beginning October 1," the finance presenter said. Commissioners approved the supplemental appropriation by voice vote; staff said the remaining net proceeds will remain in the general fund if not appropriated.
