Finance committee approves 2025 Walk of Lights display and installation contract

The Waukesha City Finance Committee on May 27 approved the 2025 Walk of Lights holiday display and a separate contract for professional installation of larger display elements.
Rebecca Peterson, communications and engagement manager, said the event is entering its fourth year and is fully supported by fundraising: "we have enough funds in the account to cover the expenses for the lights." She explained the city leases some items and purchases others each year so the display can change annually, and that some larger elements are professionally installed due to timing and crew capacity.
Committee members moved and seconded approval of the display and the installation contract; both votes passed unanimously by voice vote. Peterson confirmed both items will be paid through a special revenue fund that holds prior fundraising receipts.
With approval, staff will finalize the installation contract and proceed with display preparations for the 2025 season.
