Speakers closed the meeting with a briefing on an upcoming zoning hearing for a proposed data center that was rescheduled to Aug. 6. A county-staff member reminded the group that, as an advisory board, members cannot represent the township before the zoning hearing board; legal counsel will attend on the township's behalf and express opposition.
Board members encouraged individual participation: several said they planned to attend and make public comments. One member warned the process could require multiple sessions and expert witnesses and urged realistic expectations about timing and legal process. "We are sending our solicitor to... We are opposing it officially," one participant said, and the group noted the hearing is quasi-judicial and will likely include cross-examination and multiple parties with party status.
