Director outlines fountain replacement, HVAC work and CIP schedule; office moves temporarily

Cemetery Director Karen reported an autumn garden fountain replacement beginning the next day (expected around June 20), a new HVAC installation in the chapel starting this week with staff relocation to City Hall for 3'4 weeks, and upcoming CIP and tuck-pointing work.
Cemetery Director Karen presented operational attachments (services summary and a P&L through April) and highlighted several near-term maintenance and capital items. She said an autumn garden fountain replacement is scheduled to begin the next day and that work should be completed by about June 20.
Karen announced that the Cemetery Chapel building will receive a new HVAC system beginning this week; all ductwork will be replaced and the project will create two zones. Because of the work, office staff will be temporarily relocated to City Hall for approximately three to four weeks. "The office staff will be relocated to City Hall, for 3 to 4 weeks," she said.
Karen also said the department will start work on the capital improvement (CIP) budget this month and plans to submit a draft in early July; engineering is preparing an RFP for tuck pointing on the Administration Building. She noted the department has received replacement equipment listed in the CIP (a gator and a mower) and that seasonal workers have begun work.
